A good friend of mine invited me to a show one night at the Modified Arts venue. Modified Arts is a small home, turned venue in downtown phoenix in the Art District. I wasn’t expecting much as it was a Monday night and I hadn’t heard about the show. Most big shows in the Valley of the Sun are Thurs-Sat.
That same friend told me, from a recommendation from his friend, that Audrye Sessions was the bee’s knees and was definitely worth checking out. We got to the venue, walked in, and saw about 5 people there.
Either this was going to be an incredible intimate experience, or there were only 5 people present for a reason.
Thank goodness it wasn’t the latter.
Audrye Sessions is a mixture of folk meets Coldplay, meets Manchester Orchestra, meets insane talent.
There’s only been one other band that I’ve seen live that has moved me as much as they have. That other band? I’ll save that for next week. I was blown away at Audrye Sessions musicianship, how well they fed off eachother, and just how much they rocked my face off with a cavalcade of unique songs. We hung out with them after the show, talked music, and shared stories with some incredible people.
The next night, we drove down to Tucson, and watched them again. Definate fanboys. That show was even better than the night before.
I can’t recommend this band, and their newest release more. Front man Ryan Karazija tells incredible stories with each song while the rest of the band does an amazing job at supporting the story being told.
I can write and write and write about how good these guys (and girl) are, but just go check them out, buy their cd without regret, and enjoy.

They’re in the studio writing a new record that I cannot wait for. Here’s a YouTube video showing one of the new songs:

They’re CD can be purchased on iTunes, but before you go and do that, check out their music here.
